How to Enable, Publish & Deploy Your Chatbot

Top Guide

Step-by-step instructions on enabling public access, obtaining the website embed code, and configuring domain security.

Quick Answer: To enable your chatbot, navigate to Chatbots in your department menu, open Step 4 (Deploy & Embed) in the wizard, and toggle the Enable Public Chatbot switch to ON.

1. Activating Public Access in Step 4

When you create a new chatbot or edit an existing one, Step 4 of the wizard controls deployment state. By default, new bots are in staging mode so you can test them internally. Once tested:

ACTION 1
Open Configure Chatbot

Navigate to Chatbots in your department sidebar and open the wizard.

ACTION 2
Toggle Enable Public Access

In Step 4, flip the switch to ON and click Save & Deploy.

2. Copying the Web Widget Snippet

Paste the following code snippet immediately before the closing </body> tag on your website:

embed-widget.html
<!-- Knowledgebase AI Chatbot Widget -->
<script
  src="https://api.yourdomain.com/static/widget.js"
  data-chatbot-id="YOUR_CHATBOT_UUID"
  data-primary-color="#2563eb"
  defer>
</script>

3. Configuring Allowed Domains

Security Recommendation

To prevent unauthorized websites from embedding your chatbot, add your verified hostnames under Allowed Domains (for example: mycompany.com, app.mycompany.com).

4. Pausing or Disabling Chatbot

If you need to perform maintenance or update documents without deleting the bot, click Suspend Chatbot on your chatbot dashboard. Visitors will see a maintenance message, and queries will pause until reactivated.
